"The primary goals of the Crawford County R-I School District's wellness policy are to promote student health, reduce student overweight/obesity, facilitate student learning
of lifelong healthy habits and increase student achievement."
Research studies continue to reveal that…
The quality of foods children eat impacts cognition-with poor nutrition linked with absenteeism, hunger symptoms, & psychosocial problems.
Children who eat breakfast have higher math & verbal fluency scores, perform better on standardized tests, pay better attention, behave better, & are less likely to be absent, late, or see the school nurse.
A student’s fitness level is positively related to cognition, achievement, and better behavior.
