Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water ACT (2022)
In response to the Get the Lead out of School Drinking Water Act (RSMo 160.077), the District has developed the following procedures to meet all the requirements set forth:
-
The district has identified testing locations in accordance with the provisions of the Water Act. Appendix A contains a comprehensive list of the sampling locations that have been identified. At each designated location, samples will be collected after a static period of 8-18 hours and subsequently sent to a certified laboratory for testing. The testing process will determine the concentration of lead parts per billion (ppb). The results of these tests will be made available for public access.
-
In case where a testing location fails to meet the standard of having less than 5ppb of lead, the District will take appropriate mitigation measures. These measures may include providing bottled water to patrons, restricting access to the affected location, or repairing and replacing the location to achieve acceptable lead levels.
-
All areas that require mitigation will be subject to retesting to ensure compliance with the minimum standards. As retesting is carried out, the results will be made accessible to the public. The District will maintain records and post them publicly on the District’s website (www.warhawks.k12.mo.us).
